Currently camping at ooty. My God!! What a fantastic climate. Chill.Chill.Chill. Just cannot imagine what a difference between Mettupalayam & Ooty – around 50 to 60  KM apart having such extremes in climate.

I have previously passed by Ooty quite a few times a couple of decades ago, but did not have a great image of it. I was thinking that it was no more a cool place on account of large scale deforestation.

But I stand changed, in my first stay here. Despite the heavy traffic  congestion, chok a bloc with tourist vehicles, it offers you “The perfect great escape” from the roasting down below.

Ooty Varkey – buttery baked goodies are unique to Nilgris & its GI status is under review.  Staying at a Homestay sans swimming pool,  restaurant & other frills.  These homestays offer some hot, tasty , made to order -home cooked food.

Ooty is home to 2 major companies of yesteryear - Cordite Factory making  gun powder & the Hindustan Photo FIlms that manufactured " Indu" films; At one point of time these were the only film which you could use in your cameras..

Time to ban traffic & introduce a new pair of efficient mountain rail. Anyone interested in  investing??? Govt will offer subsidy
