Morbi or Morvi is the correct answer. Though Rajkot, Bhuj would also come to one’s mind, The clue “adorning the walls in every Indian home/office” is sufficient to precisely pinpoint at Morbi.
World’s largest clock manufacturing destination & Unit; 80% of CFL bulbs in India; 70% of India’s & 5% of world’s ceramic tiles; are all from Morbi. Check your drawing room, bathroom, kitchen bedroom walls: There’s definitely a Morbi there.
Morbi is on the road to Kutch & you can see all the popular industries on the main road itself: Ajanta, ORPAT, ORTEM / METRO, OREVA etc.. In general OR stands for the initials of O R Patel who made it big here. 85% of work force in these units are women & there are many units hiring over 500 persons.
The Kathiawad cuisine that has its origins here & is different from a traditional Gujarati cuisine as it does away with sweetness.
I’ve passed by this road many a times but never had an opportunity to dine here barring one odd vague night in May 2002. Hence not much to comment on the food.
